Juniors
We have just had confirmation that the Junior team have won the league this year. Well done to all. We still have one match to go and it would be a great achievement if we could win it and go unbeaten for the whole 6 matches.
This is our first league win since 2000 and we now go up to Division 1 with a young team and no players moving up for the next 2 seasons. I am certain we have the makings of a very good team and will be more than capable of getting results in the next few years.
The last time Lenzie won Division 1 was 1967 !!! ( Jim Wylie was in the team ) We will see how the boys do in the next few years.
Well done to all the players a great team spirit has been there all year and it showed in the results especially last Friday when we looked out of the points and some great fight backs by David Allan and Scott Kempsell got us a hard earned victory. The other good thing to see was all the boys out encouraging each other on when their own match was over.
Thanks to David Stirling for all his hard work and a great result in his first year as Convener.
Thomson McCrone
Also yesterday The Thomson McCrone team won their section for the second year in a row and now look forward to the knockout rounds.
With 12 points it looks like we will be in 1st place out the 24 teams taking part and placed 1st in the remaining 8 teams for the draw.
Again a great team spirit is what this team has had for the last 2 years and I think we can go further this year in the knockouts – you never know.
Well done to Peter and the players who played for the team.
